I think a mod can fix the misspelling Red Phoenix.
This was my favorite car of all that I have owned. I bought it new and ordered it straight from the factory. I can't find the pictures of my actual car. It was a dark metallic green. I found this one on the net and stole it for an avatar. I know, I'm bad |

I was actually here for a little over a year under a different handle and needed to change because of work issues. I had an incredible little cat at the time that was very fixated on my kindle, she would chew on it, bat it, try to get it out of the cover, etc. I had taken to calling her kindle kitten because of her fascination. when I decided to change, it seemed to be a natural transition. I very tragically and loudly lost her outside my bedroom window to coyotes 3 days after my knee surgery and I couldn't move ;o(. since then the acquisition of the Savannah cats who only go outside on harnesses

Bilbo is an old nickname from work, 1967 is a significant year for me.
I was nicknamed Bilbo at work not because of my diminuitive stature, or because I have hairy feet, but because, as new trainees we were allocated to a mentor. My mentor was an older guy who was nicknamed Gandalf (no idea why, he didn't have a beard or long hair or wear a white robe). Anyway, as Gandalf's mentee, Bilbo was the obvious nickname. Could have been worse, one guy was known as, and forever will be by some of us, as Dickwipe ![]() |

Let me see. I know that I got mine from something I once read.
![]() The 53 is just something I attach to make the name unique on forums where the name alone is already in use. In another 50 years or so it will become ambiguous, but I figure I well surely be past caring by then. |

Mine is derived from my northern European mongrel heritage. My paternal grandfather was a full blooded Norwegian, named Odean; obviously a reference to the Norse god Odin.
Both of my maternal grandparents were second generation German. So I combined my Norse and German heritage and Germanized Odin to Wodan or Woden. Both were somewhat overused across the internet so I chose a misspelling and came up with Wodin. A bit of searching revealed the only uses of Wodin were a somewhat obscure artist and a nuts and bolts factory in Ohio, so Wodin it became. edit: it has since become a little more prevalent among the gaming community. I came up with mine when I was signing up for an anime forum. I wanted something that sounded too silly to be already taken by anybody else.
![]() I don't want to go through all the reasons I chose this particular combination but I mostly wanted something that was unique and could be eventually recognized as me if used in multiple places. I even googled it to make sure it couldn't be associated with something other than me and nothing came up. If you google it now, there are several pages of listings that have nothing to do with me. ![]() |

I love this this thread. I've wondered about KindleKitten's name. In my mind she's just some hot looking girl that likes her Kindle.

![]() Actually.............the similarities are more apt than you would think. ![]() I always liked Bill the Cat back "in the day", and ABBA of course needs no explanation. |

I've used pdurrant (first initial and surname) on different websites and computers for over 20 years. So it was a natural, if rather dull, choice when I joined MobileRead.

Mine is... my name. So boring! But I'm too fickle to choose a creative screen name. No matter what I might choose, two weeks later I would be sure to find it insipid or childish. (BTW, this is also why I can never have a tattoo.)

Just a combination of a nickname and part of my real name. I wanted something short and something I might remember!
