Personally, I often search for the name of a character/event/place in a book (as I dont always remember title/author names). Since these are often mentioned in the comments, searching comments is a good thing for me. Furthermore, since most users start out with/remain with relatively small book collections, searching all metadata by default usually has no severe side effects.
