Yep. But it could be someone looking for help or confirmation. It was only posted a few hours ago.

If you really have a problem, wouldn't you be looking for a solution every so often? I know when I post a problem on a forum, I keep close watch on the thread for the first several hours/days, because I want the answer now. |

I haven't had any issues with my Kindle. Reading this, though, I'm going to go and purchase a proper cover, I haven't been too good about that so far.

As some have suggested, I take the leather-case WITH the neoprene travel case zipped up just to be sure. Never had an issue carrying it in a bag.

I have never had any problem with my kindle screens. I keep my kindles in cases and if I put one in my purse it's in a section that doesn't have anything else in with it.

It seems to me that the OP is probably storing their Kindle naked in their bag. They probably got the idea from watching those TV commercials where people put naked Kindles in drawers with loose jewelry or in their back jeans pocket; or perhaps it's just ignorance.
You need a a cover for your Kindle. Maybe not a thick, zippered neoprene case, but a cover nonetheless. My wife and I have Kindle 2's and we've only ever had one problem each with our own Kindles, and hers had nothing at all to do with the screen. My mother, on the other hand, put her K3 in her purse naked for a couple of months and lo and behold, the screen cracked twice. What a surprise. If you don't have a cover for your device, you should expect it to get damaged. |

This is something I keep saying over and over and a lo of people just ignore me. They also think a sleeve is all they need. So when they remove it from the sleeve, it's naked and has no protection. They think that's OK too. They even go as far as taking their reader our of the house in the sleeve without a cover. Some sleeves leave the top or bottom edge exposed and that's not good. I'm glad you posted that as it says what needs to be said.

Kindle Keyboard + standard Amazon leather cover will fit inside this Body Glove neoprene sleeve. It's a bit snug, but it fits with the zipper closed.

I have a zipper sleeve case for the Sony 650 and the K4 NT with Amazon leather case fits great inside it.
http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/sto...52921666257687 I only use them together when traveling... Most times just the leather case is sufficient. Last edited by Crazy Canuck; 12-07-2011 at 12:09 PM. |

I walk around with my kindle in my jacket pocket. I've dropped it on hard concrete a couple of times and it now has a couple of dimples at the corners. It seems the kindle can handle side shocks well. Any pressure on the screen, however, is deadly.

When looking for sleeves, which don't need a precise fit, consider sleeves for discontinued devices. The leather, zippered sleeve for my Nook Color cost $6. I think it was originally for the K1 or K2.
I don't understand the people using TWO cases, though! Are you throwing your bags out of moving trains? Rolling them down mountains? One case and a little care will do most people fine. |
