yeah, no more dead trees for me.

Saturday rainy night I had nothing better to do. Clicked the Kindle icon, bought Stephen King's "Night Shift", didn't sleep that night.

is there anything more awesome than that?

The thread title was clear enough, at least until I saw the four choices.

My answer to the thread title: No, I mostly use it for periodicals.

I would rate the eReader as having a superior form factor to that of the broadsheet newspaper. Print books vs. eReader? Both are fine.

My older eyes fluctuate and the ability to change font size on the fly means I will most likely not read another novel in paper book version again.

That's another great plus for e-readers! Not that my eyes fluctuate (still don't need glasses), but especially when I'm too tired to sleep, I'll read. But as I'm really tired then, I'll need larger fonts to read more comfortably... (usually only about 5 minutes, but still!) The ability to increase the font size means I can actually fall asleep easier.

Unfortunately I can't vote in the poll as the options don't fulfil the OPs question.

Due to the current screen size limitations (and the lack of colour in e-ink) I don't use my reader at all for magazines.

All fiction books are read on the reader, but for reference works I find either paper copies or computer screen and search a better/easier/more versatile option.

Of course I still have books where an emotional attachment would not allow me to part from them. And I'll still be picking up 'signed' copies if/when I see an author I like in a book store, meeting their fan base.

Pretty much the same here.

The only paper books I've purchased in the last few years were either bargain used books not available at similar bargains as ebooks or signed 1st editions recieved from the hand of the author (most recent: Abraham Lincoln by George McGovern).

The last paper book I bought was the week before I got my first ereader. Now when I see a book I want, I one-click and it's mine in 30 seconds. Life is good

I used my e-ink readers only for reading... I wanted to do more but I did not find it practical... specifically PDFs and editing documents.

I moved to an iPad now

I would rather hand wash my laundry in the sink than do without my e-reader.

I paid a whopping $379 for my first one and it was a big ouch!! When the price went down by $200 in 3 months. But even then I didn't regret buying it.

Buy one from a store with a good return policy, get a book you know you will enjoy, and see what happens.

Worst case you can return it with a clean concious if you don't like it.

If I had paper copies of everything in my e-library I'd need two or three more book cases. If I can't find it in legitimate ebook stores I'll (rarely) check the darknet. If it's not there either, it better be pretty darned good before I'll buy the paper.

I find myself reading books mostly on my iPad and Kindle. In the few ocassions that I get a a hard copy of a book, because either I can't find online or refuse to pay what they are asking for, I just go to the Library.
