Only four choices? That's like asking our favorite ereader and allowing only the four most popular.

I voted for Chrome.
For email access, buying things, discovering new sites, and sending reading material to my Kindle, I use Chrome For reading long web texts, I use Amazon WebKit. I realize this second is an unpopular choice. But it all depends what you are using the web for. |

I prefer Dolphin HD.
It lets me set desktop view as my default, and spoofs content set up to block mobile viewing such as many YouTube videos and some news sites. |

I have yet to decide between FF and Chrome. I've been using FF for years but just started using Chrome, regularly, this week.

Although I voted for chrome, I use firefox when it comes to few specific tasks. I use IE always for bank transactions. And most of the time I use chrome because my mind can't wait after I insert address/click a link for new page to render. (Impatience)

The computer came with IE and I never bothered looking at alternatives. Plus you needed IE for downloading lit files when I was buying them.

I don't have a favorite. They all have their own deficiencies and I flip back and forth depending on what I am working on.

I pretty much use Firefox only. I do use Chrome occasionally, but I have not used IE in ages.
I find these results very interesting. In the period from about 1997 to 2002 I was doing programming at a Internet start-up company that provided online courses and a learning management system for training at various companies. We tracked the browser use by customers to try and accommodate what the customers were using. This was back when the two major browsers were IE and Netscape Navigator, and both were still engaged in the annoying business of coming up with new and incompatible improvements. So the breakdown at that time generally ran 65-70% IE, 25-30% NN, and about 5% other (that we did not try and separate out). Now I expect that at the time the high use of IE was because browser choice was set by the IT departments of the companies. Still looking at these results I can help but marvel at how the mighty has fallen. I agree with others that it would have been nice to include an “other” option in this poll. |

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are many thousands of add-ons for Firefox. |

I use Chrome for school and general stuff and love the fact that it as spell check. Files generally want to open in IE for some reason but I find that IE crashes more and cookies need to be reset and that some web pages get rerouted in IE and not in Chrome. Have also used Fire Fox but was very unhappy as it didn't come with Flash player and was missing other essential plugins, so I ditched it after a week or two, tried re downloading it a few times as the latest version but with no success . Used Safari for a while but don't like the layout, so am sticking with Chrome with IE for some things.

I use Chrome 99% of the time I go online, because I like its simplicity, and many things are linked to the others: Gmail, G+, G Search, G Maps, etc. It has fewer apps than Firefox, but I don't use many anyway.
The other 1% is when I need to log on to 2 accounts on the same website at the same time, or that I'm too lazy to sign out and then sign in under a different username again. When that happens, I use Firefox Nightly. |
