I love XComics. Guided view FTW -- works great even in my humble smartphone screen. PV doesn't come close, but OTOH, it doesn't demand that a comic is prepared for it.
Now for the pricing: $1,99 for quite recent comics is good enough to me, even though the scan quality is not the greatest. I bought Sandman 1. What is definitely not right is the very same $1,99 pricepoint for outdated classics such as Fantastic Four 1 or Action Comics 1, from 60's and 30's respectively. Come on! I'd be willing to pay $0,10 for each, if much. They are really wanting people to pirate, no? |

This one has some pretty bad art and writing in the beginning but can be fun to read. You can still get it for about $10 on amazon.

What resource is my best bet for trying some digital comics for free so I can get an idea if I might want to get into it in the future?
Just keeping more options open for the devices I own to have even more fun. ![]() |

If you have a device that supports it, install Comixology and scroll down to the bottom of the store page. There's a "Free Comics" button that'll let you download a few comics to try out.

Comixology is just called Comics on fire apps store. Go to the bottom of the title page to get Recommended Freebies (about 7 issues).

I downloaded and installed the comics app pretty easily. I then chose The Walking Dead as the freebie to try out. It is pretty good but I want to see something in color instead of just B&W. Maybe I'll try another one soon.
