Nah, but you do have to read a good portion for it to count. Not just glance over it or read a few pages.

Yes, my number one criteria too is always what I want to read - I will read pbook first any day if that's the only way I could read what I wanted. Even if the pbook is a large paperback book that is flimsy, so that I can't hold it by its spine (the sides fall over then) and have to either hold it with both hands or read it on a flat surface (and then there's the fact of trying to highlight or take notes, and use an external dictionary...). But I digress.

So if the book is only available as pbook, then I'm reading pbook. But if it's available as an ebook, I will probably go ebook every time (which is why I hadn't read a pbook in so long) even if more expensive....well, so long as it's not too much more expensive, but I haven't had that problem yet.

I have kept my collection of pbooks (my personal collection) but haven't purchased any pbooks or read any since I got my first reader, a Sony 505. EBooks don't take any room.

I'm reading a pbook right now: The Complete Idiot's Guide to HTML5 and CSS3 by Joe Kraynak.

I read fiction on my Kindle, but I prefer to read the paper version for most reference/instructional books.

I love ebooks... and I love pbooks. I just love books, I guess. Except for mass market paperbacks. I flat out won't read those, which is part snobbery and part bad eyesight. I read about 2/3 ebooks and 1/3 pbooks.

Right now I am reading the Steve Jobs bio, one of the only hardcovers I've read since I got my ereader a year ago. I am really enjoying the "experience" of the book: the heft of it, the typography, the photo insert. But I had to put it aside while I went on vacation. Vacations are ereader only.

I still read both, although at the moment my pbook options are limited. Currently on the go I have a Ray Bradbury anthology and "Black Bodies & Quantum Cats" (nonfic) in pbook and Richelle Mead in ebook. Last week I read "Eccentrics" by David Weeks in pbook.

Maybe you should ask "when's the last you paid attention and read a post?"

I didn't notice the "p"...and just read "book". So I voted "today, of course". Paper book...god, I can't remember. Might have been 1 in the last year.

I think I read a pbook last year. But it could also be two years ago... There are a few books that I would like to read, but of which I only have the p-version. Can't get myself to pick them up...

I read them all the time, alternating with ebooks. My local library is pbook only and I want to keep supporting it so that it does eventually go down the ebook road. It's the story that counts for me, not so much the format, although I do love my ereader.

Just this morning. I still read a lot of paper books, mostly from the library. And I'm slowly working my way through my shelf of still unread paper books I bought a few years ago.

I can't remember the last time I read a paper book. Magazines and newspapers, but not a paper book. Probably sometime in 2010, but it might even have been 2009.

I received my ereader as a birthday present in June last year. I also received a paper book - it is the only paper book I have read in the last 18 months.

Mid August was when I read my last pbook. It was a reread so I had the book on the shelf.

I'm not against pbooks but I prefer ebooks, especially long books (Stephen King, George R.R. Martin, etc) because it's more comfortable to read. The only two books this year that I wasn't able to get in ebook form was Richard Kadrey's Sandman Slim (regional restrictions) and the first of the Midsommer Murder series (publisher took them offline a while ago) and I got those in pbook form. The other pbooks I read are either gifts or rereads.
