Harry, I do understand that if the item is deleted from my archives, it's not in my Kindle Touch, but the name of the book still remains visible on the screen. Is there any way to remove that?

You need to have your K4 connect to Amazon, how else would it know what you did there?

BTW I bet if you tried to read that book, it would tell you (as soon as it connected)

None of this works. I deleted 6 books from my Amazon account Kindle library - it's a week later, and every single one of them opens to read when I pull them up on my Kindle Touch. This is so frustrating. The number of items I have to scroll through to find something just keeps getting longer and longer as I add items, because nothing will delete. I tried putting them into categories, which worked, but it didn't remove them from the main list, so in addition to a hundred items to scroll through, now I have 105 because of the added categories. I like the Kindle but this makes me want to throw it against the wall.

You're doing something wrong. Have you actually deleted the book from your Kindle? Ie, tap and hold the item on the home page, then select "Move to Archive" from the resulting menu?

How do you remove a book from Kindle archive that you did not buy through them? I downloaded an epub book and changed the format with Calibre and uploaded it to my Kindle through Calibre.

If you didn't buy the book from Amazon, it won't be in your Archive, unless you've uploaded it as a personal document.

I've found that I can only delete Calibre created items from my Kindle Touch if I first delete them from my Amazon library. Once I do that, I can get the context menu on the item, which includes the Delete option. So delete from Amazon first, then go back to your Kindle, hold your finger on the title of the item you wish to delete, and then delete it from the menu.

If anyone knows how to fix it so I can just delete directly from the Kindle, that would be great since I'm downloading buckets of news every day with Calibre and need to clean up frequently.
