I've had 4 Clip+8gb - one nicked by son, one lost by me, one in car, one in pocket.
Bought another 2 for presents. At this price, it's ridiculous, buy 2 !! A better pair of 'phones is a good idea though, to make them perfect. Skullcandy is good, Sennhauser wonderful. Not many whistles, perfect if, like a lot of people, you just want music. Frankly, it makes alost every other mp3 look stupidly expensive and pointlessly huge and over-engineered. And audio books work fine on mine, oncard to save space on machine. Anyone ever used the radio though ? can't say I have.... ![]() |

I use it exclusively on all my Clip+s (I have 5). nice, folder based, music player. I use it for FLAC files. The menus are tiny, though....

I too use the radio - with a decent set of earbuds - I listen to the classical station a lot at work to drown out coworkers!

No, it's because I can't clip it to the shoulder strap of my workout top anymore. I work out at least 5 days a week, and learned early on that it's much easier to day motivated to do just one more rep if you have some music with you. It's all I used it for, all I needed it for, and now that it can't do that anymore, it's sitting semi-abandoned on my desk.

I have several Creative brand MP3 players (I got started with a Nomad Jukebox 2 about 10 years ago) but I do have an original Sansa Clip that I bought as a refurb a couple years ago. I use it on the nightstand with a pair of earpieces from headphones under my pillow. The only bother with it is that the sleep timer doesn't persist and needs to be set every night.
I was at Costco today for a couple gallons of milk and a set of tires and decided to buy myself the Clip Zip as an early present. It's the first player I've bought since that first Nomad that was new, not refurbed. |

Edit: the Zip has a micro USB port for charging and data. That means you can use the same cable to charge your smartphone and Zip. The Clip+ used a mini USB port, which meant two different cables. Last edited by tubemonkey; 11-23-2011 at 01:56 AM. |

Costco sells the black model and it has a silver faceplate, silver clip, and silver buttons. The website doesn't have this version, so I'm thinking it's exclusive to Costco (only a guess).

Never used a mSD card yet. If mine ever needs replacing I may go with the Zip but right now I don't see anything new to entice me unless the battery issue is fixed on using mSD cards. It the one reason I've never used that feature because I was told it uses alot of juice. ![]() |

The folder for audiobooks on the Clip+ is buried inside the music folder. I've always hated that and it was a hassle scrolling for it whenever I wanted to play audiobooks. On the Zip, the folder is on the main screen and separate from the music folder. It makes listening to audiobooks and podcasts much easier, and is the reason why I upgraded.
