I wouldn't worry about fully charging the battery. Unlike before, a lot of modern electronic gadgets now come somewhat pre-charged, so it's not required to do a for full charge since technically it's not the first time you're charging the battery.

I'm waiting for the UPS driver now and I definitely won't be waiting for it to get charged when I get mine

You know that only the old type of batteries, like nickel cadmium batteries, need to be fomatted? Lithium-ion and nickel metal hydride batteries don't have any "memory" and they don't need to be formatted, the only thing you should avoid is completely depleting them, it's best to charge them when they are 1/3 or 1/2 charged.

okay well - I just did a copy and paste of about 1200 books from my K3 documents folder to the new one and she's screaming

The K3 is not eligible for the $30 remove ad option. Only the K4, and I assume the K Touch.

Yep only the new Kindles are eligible for this. I discover this in my settings when I got my K4. It's $30 for the K4 I don't have a Touch but I assume it's the same price.
