I think there is a new candidate for the ebook reader with the biggest screen:

Jetbook Color* - 9.7 inch and it's got a colour screen!

This one is on sale in the UK for about £400 or so.

This beats the Pocketbook Pro 912 unless I am missing something, right?

*should be "colour" - it's not an American company... ;-)
At that price why not just get a good 10" tablet? I know they are not e-ink but I find mine easy to read on with the right apps, and they're a lot more versatile... And can be bought for the same price from a reputable company such as Samsung, Motorola, Asus...

Thanks for listing the link.
It appears Ectaco is a German company. Seems that they might have pushed this to market before it was quite ready..

Perhaps some of this is a firmware issue, that will get better as they release new versions?

Perhaps the Pocketbook Pro 912 is still the best choice for me then - I'll read in the Jetbook forum.

The main thing to be aware of for the jetBook Color is that the screen really doesn't look like those pictures above (neither of which are actual photos). It looks decidedly darker than all the current generation of eInk devices, and the colors are muted compared with an LCD screen. It improves dramatically in very bright sunlight so it's great for reading outdoors, but not so good in a relatively dim room at night.
