Mine has paid for itself. I'm only counting the offers for stuff I would've bought anyway.

I think that what we are seeing is the lull before the holiday season, as the companies keep back their best deals for after Thanksgiving. Even so, it appears that the KSO does pay for itself over time. I may not be able to realize $100 worth of savings in a month, like many of you did , but over two years seems a sure bet.
OK, this gives me some good ammunition in the purchase debate with the spouse ( you married folks know what I mean).
" Tell me you're not spending more money on another toy".
"But honey, it'll pay for itself in savings. Look on these great Oil of Olay deals."

I saved more than the cost of the KSO's just on the grocery coupons (since it was not limited to one per account or any specific amount, I even bought a new KSO just to get another coupon and paid for it immediately, plus quite a bit, as I was able to do a second order after we had consumed items from the first order.

With the $79 KSO, you'd still break even in a few months, just using the $1 book offers, I suspect.

I'm in the market for an HDTV now. Grocery coupons? Tell me more.

I'm most interested in the book and electronics deals.

Don't look at the current offer

It took me a few months, but mine has definitely paid for itself - it was over halfway there just on the $6 for 6 audiobooks offer from Audible. In addition to that, $20 total on 2 separate $10 gift card offers, $30 on a lighted cover, approximately $25 in groceries, and approximately $15 in $1 book offers. All purchases were things I would have bought anyway with the possible exception of the lighted cover - I wanted one, but didn't want to pay $60 for it. Total savings, slightly over $150.

2 months ago there was a 20% discount on laptops. I saved over $200 on a Macbook Air. Some people saved around $600 on a 17" Macbook Pro. I bought my Kindle specifically to take advantage of the offer.

I turned around and sold the laptop for 150.00 more than I paid for it. Someone got a good deal on a MacBook Pro, and my Kindle more than paid for itself. win-win.

I saved $216.50 with just the 50% off back to school grocery coupon. I bought a ton of organic products, almost all of which I had never even tried before, and most off which I will buy from Amazon in the future with Subscribe and Save... so it's win/win for me and Amazon.

I also used the $5 off a $10 physical product coupon to purchase another case of one of those items with S&S, though I didn't get the regular S&S discount so I ended up only saving an extra $3.

I've also bought several $1 e-books that I otherwise would not have purchased, including the first of a mystery series that I ended up liking and will probably buy more of those. Clever Amazon making me spend more money! I normally only buy free books or borrow from the library and normally never even look at the mystery genre.

That's about all I've saved so far, but if I had been in the market for a notebook computer or HDTV I could have saved a lot on the purchase... those were some very nice discounts on a large selection of high ticket items.

I'm pretty careful about not buying something just to get a discount, but if it's something I was already considering the extra discount might push me over the edge to buy from Amazon. Only if it's a significant discount though... I'm pretty frugal.
