You convert them. Which requires stripping the DRM in most cases, since most Kobo books have DRM. But I use Apprentice Alf's tools to remove the DRM, and then use Calibre to do the actual conversion from ePub to Mobi.

It's really easier than you think. No more involved than any Calibre sideloading is, it's really only a couple of clicks and you're done.

I'm no help when it comes to converting kindle books to the Kobo. I never had any Kindle books to begin with. I ordered both e-readers and didn't open either box until I had made my decision. Then I sent the Kindle back, kept the Kobo and never looked back!

(Just to update anyone interested...I had to return my Kobo and get another one. The first one's on off button didn't seem to work. I had a problem with it from the moment it arrived, and yesterday it just would not turn on. It was fully charged and I did everything to try to restart it, but nothing worked. The new one I got is awesome and turns on/off consistently and with ease. Still loving my Kobo thanks to the return!)
