PRS-T1 Just bought one - need help - Page 2

By far the biggest problem I have remaining is that the ebooks sort by author's first name, not by last name. For example, books by J.R.R. Tolkien come before books by Lois McMaster Bujold.

The background to this problem is that I don't use the Sony reader software to manage my book library; I use calibre. I have calibre set up now to make books sort by author's last name on my PRS 650. My wife is likely to take over the PRS 650 and use my calibre library to store our books, so I want to continue the same calibre settings.

So, is there some way I can get the T1 to use the 650 method to sort books by author's last name?

It would be easy enough to change the calibre settings so that the books on my T1 sort by author's last name. But this would mean that her books on the 650 sort by author's first name, and I don't think she'd be too happy with that.

The T1 uses a different device plugin than the other Sony readers. So if you fixed the 650 by going into Preference | Plugins | SONY Device Interface and checking "Use author sort for author" (I'm guessing that that's what that box does), you'll want to do the same thing for the "SONY PRST1 and newer Device Interface" plugin.

Thanks, that's most helpful. I don't remember doing anything in preferences for the 650, but I'll explore.
