Cargo pants?

I just carry mine in my hand or in a coat pocket during the winter months. My wife is resigned to it always being with me. It is my vade mecum.

Newbie to MR here.. and the Kindle as well.. may purchase another reader .. Kindle marvelous for reading... great for Amazon but hate the "ownership /DRM thing.. understand author/publisher issues and rights but Amazon hmmm gotta think this through .. love these forums answers a lot of my questions.. wish I had found this PRIOR to purchase

That part's really not gonna change regardless of what brand you ultimately end up with. DRM'ed content that publishers don't really want you to "own" isn't exactly an Amazon exclusive scenario.

I'll never know whether the Kindle will get me to read more but I can say that the Sony reader got me to read a little more

I use a black jansport bookbag. But I'm more and more being temped toward a messenger bag.
But either way, there is no way in heckalujah that I'd put my reader in my pocket [plus, the oberon cover makes it a bit thicker. My wife likes that

in my opinion yes, it encourages people to read more
but everything depends on to the people
if personel does not want to read book
anything will be effective to person...

wrt the OP: I bought my first ebook reader - Sony505 primarily because of the vast number of classics available and it definitely got me to reading more than I had been, particularly in the fiction area.

I don't really think ebook readers will affect the readership demographics in the long run. Will be about the same once the novelty wears off.

That being said, it certainly seems ebook readers and tablet computers are THE GIFT this holiday season.

Messenger bags are very useful. I always have with my all my chargers, cables, backup disks, etc.

Agreed. I have a full backpack I carry to work along with my (work) computer bag.

I call it my "portable office" ... but I think people may think I'm living on the streets...
