Question is how much pressure did these books apply to the Kindle itself? If it looks like a bag/box I would stuff with boxes, the pressure would be between "high" and "severe". Nothing that hurts paper, but an eReader...?

A suggestion. In Target in the auto section there is a case that's for things like a GPS. There is one that the kindle 3 fits well even with a cover on it. It has a mesh pocket inside that I use to store the cords in a plastic baggy. The kindle then fits above that in it's cover. This case is semi hard and zips and is a good thing to have if you want to toss it in with your bag of books or any other bag with other things in it. It will protect it, especially if you use a cover as well. If you don't use a cover I recommend you don't put the cords in with the kindle and instead put the kindle in the mesh pocket and store the cords elsewhere. |

Gazling
I bought a kindle wi-fi. It worked for a couple months then the wifi stopped. I got another one as a replacement from amazon and it worked again for awhile and the wifi stopped again. I had that replaced also and this time it lasted several months and then it froze up and would not work. Amazon replaced it yet again. I treat it very carefully. Each one has been stored in the amazon cover with the steel clips so I'm thinking I may avoid that in case it's the problem. All the same amazon have instantly exchanged each one and over all....all 3 that is... I have exceeded the 12 month warranty. Its about 19 months. If it wasn't such a magical device I may have given up by now and avoided them.
