Well I didn't have too long to wait. The added EPUB/PRST1 plugboard seems to have done a good salvage job. It works just as you said it would. Just for interest I'm going to try adding a PDF/PRST1 plugboard as well, to see what happens. Thanks for your help.

P.S. Do you think it might be significant that when these 'rebuild events' happen, it always seems to be the first connect of the day, whatever time of day that may be?

It is hard to see how that could be a determinant, but who knows?

I think that it is fairly clear that the connection is triggering the event. Unfortunately I don't know why. It is possibly related to setting the modified date in the database during the sync, but if this is the case that means that from the point of view of the T1 calibre's date computation sometimes is wrong and sometimes is not wrong for the same book. The mind begins to boggle.

I hope that enough events happen to collect enough data to where kolenka can get a handle on it. That is the only way it will get fixed, if indeed it is fixable.
