My library is for a county and there is a dropdown box to select your city. Some cities have pins and some don't. When I first read the title of this post I thought maybe you meant search.overdrive.com. But, now I see you mean your library site. I find the best way to search genre is by the advanced search drop-down boxes. The author and title searches are too broad. Once I can locate a book by the author or in the series then I open that one and click on the author or series links to get a better search filter on other choices by that author or series.

One of my libraries only requires the library card number. I must admit I had never thought about this before.
Just because I was feeling naughty (and because I couldn't believe it would let me) I logged in with the next number up from mine and borrowed a book!! ie my number is xxxxxxx2 and I used xxxxxxx3. I still can't believe it worked.
I'm going to wait 48 hours (so I don't lock whoever they are out by an early return) and then return the book.

I have to admit I have not used it much. Tried once or twice, found it cumbersome and was getting all sorts of weird hits, moved on.

Library borrowing just doesn't have much appeal to me anyhow - I know I am in the minority - so in that sense my opinion doesn't count much. But the clunkiness of the software sure didn't sway me towards giving it a shot...

Don't tell your library about this security flaw. Instead of thanking you, they'd probably ban you. It doesn't pay to be the bearer of bad tidings.
