and i agree with others your device is most likly constantly indexing you 1311 books

My limit is 30 and growing. Seriously, I keep my books on Dropbox and now with the Kindle Personal Cloud you can do it that way too. Unless you don't have WiFi access and have to USB sideload everything other then that I don't see the need to bog down the Kindle with tons of books.

Could be indexing. However, it sounds like you are reading a boatload as well. Are you using a lighted cover? I end up charging mine at least once a week as the light sucks up a lot of energy, and I certainly don't read as much as the OP.

If you do a search for a non-existent string from the home page (eg, "xxxxxxxx"), it will come back and say "8 items remain to be indexed" (or whatever the number is). If you then click on that line, it will take you to a screen showing you the items that are waiting to be indexed.

I'd suggest leaving it connected to external power while it's indexing; it's an activity which takes a lot of CPU power.

It is surely indexing problem. I have bought a spare battery for my K2 but then discovered that this is an indexing issue. Keep USB plugged - I think it keeps CPU speed fast when it is plugged in so it will do the indexing faster.

Also - every use of the dictionary causes the screen to refresh. And the CPU goes to the full speed for the look-up of the word. So keep in mind that the E-Ink devices have no "hours of work" but "page-refresh count" with one charge. They drain a lot of energy during the page refresh and the dictionary use is a such thing (even partial refreshes drain energy). So I think this is your case... If you look at the specs of the other E-Ink devices you will see f.e. 8000 page turns with one charge claimed. Amazon just uses a marketing trick - one month, two month... May be if you read slow and without use of dictionary, bookmarks and wiki.

Is it normal for Kindle 3 Wifi to last only 4 days, with wifi on for about 10minutes/day and 4-6hrs/day of reading ?

Are you sure WiFi is off while you read? It should last alot longer then that unless you are playing games with it too? Another thing is a book could be stuck indexing. Indexing drains a battery quickly. When adding a ton of books plug the K3 in till done to save on battery life.

I'm quite sure about it, and there is no book indexing. Now I'm worried

Call Kindle Support. They will help you and if it's defective replace it for you.
