Yeap, reflow is slow. without, in landscape mode, it's descent.
But unless you fell the need for something more pockatable, keep your 950, larger screen will always be better. |

I know...which is why I love my 950. Now the 950 is pretty decent with PDF text reflow, but its landscape mode sucks (thanks for the fix, Sony), while it's the inverse with the T1...

I'm trying a large (490 page) pdf & the page turn is actually slower than on my old PRS-300! And what's more annoying is that it keeps flashing a Please Wait message in the center of the screen after I hit the page key. At least with my 300 I could press the page turn key when I was half way down the page and wouldn't notice the delay as much--the "please wait" box disrupts that.

SO, maybe, you should try and reprint one. See if it improves. In case it helps. ![]() |

I haven't noticed a slow down on page turns with PDF files on my PRS-T1, the pages turn as fast on it as it does on my other Sony ereaders (500, 505, and 600). One factor might be that I format the PDFs for my screen and don't use any of the ebook manipulation functions (such as reflow). Also, another factor might be that I didn't use my T1 until I upgraded the firmware to the current version to avoid any problems that it addressed.
My process for making PDF ebooks is fairly simple: I create/edit the ebook in StarOffice, save it, and then export it to PDF. I've found it an easy and reliable way to make ebooks for my ereader, and it will look on my ereader exactly as I intended. When it comes to a table of contents, I don't rely on any type of links. With ebooks that need it, I insert a table of contents at the beginning of the ebook. When needed I look up and then go the appropriate page. It's not fancy, but I've found that it works reliably regardless of the specific ebook reader. |

I try to avoid pdf by all means, but lately I read a book of about 130 pages, using reflow. It was fine in the beginning, but the furter I got, the slower the pageturns became.
By accident I found out, that it helps a bit, to exit the book and reopen it from time to time. |

From what I see so far, the T1 is an excellent ePub reader, but a dismal PDF reader. My 950 is a more suitable PDF reader, and an excellent ePub reader. In other words, the best e-reader I've seen so far.

I made the mistake of assuming the T1 would be just as good as the 650 when it came to page reflow turns. Oh well. As has been mentioned, I avoid PDFs as much as possible. Thank you, Calibre!
