Refurbished Sony Prs 350 - Page 2

Ordered on the 16th using the coupon ($69.99 + tax, free shipping) and received it today, the 20th. A label on the back says REFURBISHED but it looks like new. Charged up in a couple hours, loaded with books and I am in e-reading heaven. Thanks to the OP and others for this deal!

Got mine yesterday 20th too. Charged it, put books on it & will be giving my sister her early birthday present this weekend.

It doesn't work at all now. I went almost all the way through the checkout process and the coupon doesn't work and the price never goes down from $152.

I just tried chat customer service to see if they'd honor the 70 dollar price (or at least the 85). They checked to see if they "could pull a few strings" and offered me free express shipping if I paid the 153. lol

Guess I'll just have to keep an eye out. They'll be back under 100 at some point. Really like the look of the metal case. Love to kick up the performance of my 300 without lugging around plastic.

Also got mine yesterday, also pristine condition, as if new, with just the Refurbished sticker saying otherwise.

Igadgitz makes good cases, per Amazon customer reviews:
- flip style
- side-opening.

Terrific small-sized reader alternative. Was pleasantly surprised that it slipped into my size L flannel shirt's breast pocket. Though just barely, so not sure it would if in a case. Gotta get used to not ever holding the screen when reading, like I can do on the Kindle or 505.

The Kindle still wins for Calibre magazines and newspapers with these features:
- "View Sections and Articles" - a top-level view, a sort of super table of contents you can browse through quickly, read articles you like, then hit the Back key to be back in the View Sections and Articles area.
- Automatic delivery when setup in Calibre to use the free Kindle e-mailing service. The newspapers and magazines just appear when you turn on wireless and are in wi-fi range (after running Calibre on your PC, of course).

The annoying thing about the KK is that you can't hold it by the side edges, since that's where the page buttons are. That's a far worse problem for me than not touching the centered screen.

What I'm noticing about my refurb'd 350 is that the buttons seem slightly recessed. Works well otherwise and looks immaculate. Nice to have PRS+ on one 350 and stock on the spare.

I hope the iGadgitz case isn't like the Tuff-luv case it resembles. If so, don't expect it to be sexy like the original Sony lighted cover. I actually have the Tuff-Luv cover with stand sitting next to me and am choosing not to use it -- and I got it during a blow-out sale on Amazon.

Don't get me wrong -- it's a versatile case and you might love it. It just makes me look and feel like I'm carrying a clunky PDA from 1992. And the leather also sheds.

Proporta 350 Case

People talk about the Proporta case being lighter than the Sony, which is twice as light the Tuff-Luv. I'd probably try it if I were in the market, though it's gotten mixed reviews on Mobile Read.

Here are a few options for sleeves and carrying cases from which -- sadly! -- the 350 has to be removed to be used:

Mini Sports Sleeve (can sometimes be found at Radio Shack for under ten dollars)

M-Edge Sleeves and Bags

Thanks, I got that case in brown, it's verrry dark, had to put it next to something black to ensure I hadn't gotten black. Nice case.
