I keep everything on my DXG. My collections cover 1 1/2 pages and allow me to organize my books in a way that makes sense to me. Books that I have not read go into the reading or to be read collections as well as the genre they belong in. When I finish reading a book, I remove it from the reading collection and put it in the read in 2011.

My K3 does not have my entire collection, but it does have a fair number of the books on it. The collections are less extensive because the screen is smaller and it is my back up reader so I am less anal with it.

All of my books are on Amazon's server and saved on my computer sans DRM.

I only delete duplicates--freebies that I picked up at Amazon that were later free as epubs.

I delete books I disliked and/or don't want to read again. But then again, I'm a neat-freak when it comes to organizing my media. I hate having things in my collection that I don't particularly like, even if it is Amazon that's storing it for me. Who knows, perhaps someday I'll regret deleting something and wish I could get it back, but so far that's never happened.

I'm the same way with music. I could listen to my music collection for 12 days straight without hearing a repeat, and it consists entirely of music I enjoy hearing. Why clutter things up with music I don't enjoy?

I haven't deleted any purchased books (yet). They do not clutter my Kindle since they go into the collection named "read" (as in "has been read").
I also have a collection called "TBR" where the books-to-be-read and the currently-reading book(s) are placed.

I have some 300 books on my Kindle.

Most of them I also keep on a Kindle device organized into collections.

All of that is pretty much automatic and little work, I can't imagine why I'd want to go through and delete them. What if I have a Granddaughter someday who might want to read "old fashioned" Romance novels? I'd hate to tell her I deleted them all.

I also backup to an external HD and a Flash Drive.

I also keep it, and while I've not been as good about backing it up to various places, I need to do that.

I don't really have many books I wouldn't want to keep. I don't buy them if I wouldn't want to keep them (or even download free books I wouldn't want to keep). If I'm not sure of a book, I get it from the library the old fashioned way.

I've deleted just a couple of freebies, and one book that I purchased that was absolutely awful.

I used to keep everything on my Kindle, but it was getting so clunky that I've started organizing things better. Right now I'm sorting through freebies and deleting ones I know I'll never read. I also delete books I've already read, so everything on my Kindle now is TBR books. I've got a copy of all my books on a backup drive (and Dropbox), so I don't worry about losing stuff.

I would just point out that if you delete library books, any bookmarks/notes/highlights/reading position you created get deleted too (I just checked this). You can always check the book out again (from any library), and have them restored, even if you never intend to purchase.

I'm actually more inclined to make highlights and notes with library books, since these remain in my possession, as it were, on kindle.amazon.com, though the book itself does not. Whereas with books I 'own', I don't need such breadcrumbs as much; I can just read the book.

I rarely delete books from my account, unless they were really bad. I plan to loan out or gift my old kindles to family members or friends & for all I know they will like things I don't.

I keep everything but samples, library books and those foreign dictionaries that comes with the new Kindle. I've only deleted one book before from my Archive and that was after the author threw a fit about his book being giving away for free.

It's not my space being used and I only keep a handful of books on my Kindles. The rest are in Calibre or Dropbox.

It never occurred to me to delete anything from Amazon.

I keep my Kindle organized but only delete books that are irritatingly bad.

I have a bad habit of downloading anything that is free, I check each week for free books, and sort out if I will ever read at a later date. I figure it's better to have and delete than to miss getting a free book that I may find valuable at a later date. The problem with this is that I have dups and garbage and simply stuff I would never be interested in. Note these are all free. I don't often buy books but when I do it's something I know I like. I like reading books in series so I have LOTR, Sookie and Anita Blake and will never delete them but a few that I did not like or have no use (previous years calendars) and a few free mini books that are really just a few chapters of a greater book trying to hook readers to buying the real thing, they all got to go.

I keep it all. I've got over 1200 books in my archives, and it doesn't bug me at all. Most books are unread, but I figure if I ever am out of money, I've got something to read... Most of them were free...

I probably should delete some of the junk off my Amazon account. But I don't.
I've got about 2000 books archived, and it makes it difficult to find things in the archives when I want to pick something to read.

I wish you could organize the archives a bit. By genre or something like that.
