The interesting thing about Amazon freebies is that the books tend to sell far better once they come off the free cycle. Or at least, mine do. Apparently all those free downloads give the Amazon algorithms enough data to match the books up with likely buyers.

Interesting. Had the book been free on Smashwords previously? B&N can take up to a month to update their listings.

Right but do you know if they posted to B&N through Smashwords? There are other ways to get there. What I said only applies to books published by Smashwords to B&N.For example, Lulu with out my knowledge pushed a copy of my book which Smashwords and B&N had for free... but Lulu set the price to $6.99! So B&N had it at $6.99.

That makes sense to me, considering that B&N doesn't sell to people outside the US (or maybe North America), but Kobo does.
