Comic books. When I got them as a kid they had a decent page count and were reasonably thick as a result. Not now, and of course the price for comics went up as the page count went down. They used to have comic 3 packs too. 3 comic books for $1.25 but that is long gone I'm sure.

The energy efficient light bulbs on the market today are fluorescent! Unless they're LEDs, but they're still reasonably rare and expensive.

In some countries they mostly sell the cold colours. In the Netherlands we like soft, warm colours. The warmest colour all the big manufacturers make that comes closest to incandescent light bulbs is number 827. The 8 stands for the quality and the 27 means 2700 Kelvin, and a 950 is a daylight colour quality 9 (you judge colours, often used by printers) 5000 K and a 640 is a low quality cool colour, etc. A wikilink) with explanation. There is one very small manufacturer called Dura that makes energy saving light bulbs in colour 825 which is even warmer. Philips sells the flame/terracotta energy saving light bulbs but due to rules they are rather pale.

A local electronics store sells those coloured plastic sheets for disco lights in "pale gold" which is a light terracotta, depending on the light fixture you could get creative with that to make the light even softer.

^Awesome. I knew they were flourescent pdurrant, but I find the lighting off my flourescent tubes in the basement better than the lighting I get out of the CFs (compact flourescents) which is what I was comparing them to. I should have been more specific.

Soap bars have been sliced in half

Boxes of frozen cheese bread have gone from 8 pieces to 5 pieces

Juice bottles still look the same from the front, but half of the back is flattened to make a deep handle

Teachers -- used to be that teachers were well read, literate, understood grammar, and were "experts" in their subject matter concentrations. As a result of teachers going downhill, education has been sliding down the slippery slope of "why bother in 140 characters or less!"

Manners!
When I was a kid, even if you were the first at the bus stop, when the bus came and an adult was present, you let the adult on first. Mainly because manners insisted that a child should give up their seat for an adult. My wife told me today that while at work in a radiology practice full of sick people, children accompanying an adult because of school holidays occupied seats with their parent while sick adults stood and could not sit on the empty children's seats available for children because they are too small.

and . . .

R.I.P.

Tooth paste tubes (or any other product contained in a tube)
Same size, same weight, higher prize and larger hole so that the product is consumed faster and hence must be bought more often.

"Destruction chips" contained in electronic products so that you have to buy new ones. Like the chip in (especially) laser printer toner cartridges so that they only last a year, regardless on how much toner has been used, then go "empty".

Money, they used to last longer a couple of decades ago
