Anyone upgrading their K3 for the Kindle Touch - Page 2

I pre-ordered as soon as the page went live. They are shipping right before Thanksgiving...hope it comes before the holiday!

I like the smaller/lighter form factor and I never used the keyboard anyway. The new lighted cover looks better than the K3 one too.
Can't wait!

I actually just ordered a refurbished Kindle 3 3G. I have a Kindle 2, and was waiting to see what the next version would be. I decided that I would prefer the Kindle 3 over anything offered, so I grabbed one before they disappear. $129 refurbished!

As some others have stated elsewhere, I like page turn buttons, I like the true keyboard, and I like that one can change the battery, as I have done with my Kindle 2. The only thing I might like about the new Kindles is that they are really pocket sized -- but then, more difficult to hold, as DiapDealer has noted.

i really believe that you should call kindle customer service about your issue, perhaps they already know that the qc was not good in their first manufacturing run.

Thanks I may do that. How do returns work. Do they ship a new one out then I return this one or do I return this one then they ship it out. Do I need to paid for postage returning the K4?

with me they attached my regular credit card to the exchange and i had a month to ship the return back in the packaging that the replacement arrived in. i it was the next day after my call when the new one arrived. i'd hope your case would be the same. i shipped the old one back (prepaid by amazon) that same day and my credit card was not charged.

Okay I talked to Shane. Nice guy even if he has my crazy ex's name. We went through the troubleshooting first and then he put me on hold and after trying to restart it, they are sending a replacement. It will be here tomorrow!

I'm upgrading because it is faster, lighter, smaller, has SOs, I will finally be able to type 'résumé' and 'naïve' correctly, x-ray looks interesting, and I prefer a touch interface (assuming Amazon has done a good job with that). My wife will be getting an upgrade from K2 to K3. And I will see who is interested in the K2.

I won't be getting 3G because it's 'crippled', wifi is freely available and $50 saved can help pay for the Fire.

No. Part of me wants a new toy, but it's not worth shelling out the $ when my K3 is less than a year old & works just fine

I feel the same way. I got my K3 in June, so I don't see any reason to upgrade.

I got my KSO in April and I'm upgrading. That's because I need a second ereader.

Yes I pre-ordered a KTSO. I really prefer touch screens. I will probably give away some of my other readers. But will keep my Sony 350 & Sony T1.....What can I say I've turned into an e-reader nut.

Touch looks nice, but it really doesn't have any features (except xray) that the k3 lacks. When I bought my k3 last year I planned to use it for at least 3 years, so I won't be upgrading until 2013. By then there will probably be another generation of kindles out, and older models will be like 50 bucks.

The Sony T1 is tempting though...
