Your welcome,
There are three options: None, Selected Pictures or Cover of the last Book Read. That should cover all or most of the bases. |

Both at the moment. Apparently I'm having a technology challenged day today. lol If I can figure out how to load this thing manually I *might* be happy but if it's only sync with everything under the sun - it's going back!

I've always hated the Sony software, so I haven't used it much.
The T1 with wifi can authorize for DRM without connecting to a PC (by logging into the reader store). And I can just drag-and-drop the ePub files I want at that point, even if they are DRM'd. |

Pray tell me how to do so? I keep unchecking it and it keeps rechecking it to Sync it. On the Reader Library it was very simple - no check means no sync. Not quite on this one. I deleted all the books manually on the reader itself but it now has collections that are marked with the sync symbol. When it's marked with the sync symbol it will not let me delete the empty collection on the reader or through the software.
Any ideas? Assistance would be greatly appreciated. |

So you can use one collection for syncing by just leaving that one on. |

But I want more than one collection on my reader. I just don't want every single book I own on the dang thing. Now I have 29 empty collections.

Don't get me wrong - I am the first one to say this software is just broken. But I was able to transfer selected content to both my 350 and 950. |

I'm still fighting with this thing. I figured out how to sync only certain things to the reader but it's convoluted & stupid IMO.
In the My Library tab of the software, go to the category you want - books, pictures, periodicals etc. Select the items you want on the reader and at the bottom click on More Actions. From there select Sync to Reader. Only the selected items will be put on the reader. Peachy. But no collections yet. I don't know yet how to sync only certain books within a collection so that it keeps it in that specified collection on the reader. Syncing only certain books just dumps them on the reader but not inside a collection. |

Thanks for the tip on More Actions. Did you create collections within the Reader software or are your collections only on your T1? I think that you have to select the specific collection that you want to sync, although it will sync all of the books within that collection. The best option for you might be to transfer over the books that you want and then manually create a collection on the T1. I think that might be the route that I take.
I knew I was frustrated with the software yesterday so I decided not to attach the T1 by USB today. I thought I'd just enjoy reading a book. I'll wait until this weekend to try and sort out how I want to organize everything. |

Sorting Collections on T1
How are the sorting options on the T1? Any good?
Can you change the default, or does it always revert to "by added order" like on the PRS-x50s? Also, is there a manual sorting option that lets you put books in whatever personal order you like? (I know you can do this with Reader Library software -- I'm hoping you can now do it directly on the T1 or at least via the new Reader for PC/Mac software. Thanks in advance! Hi Bookworm Girl. You're welcome! When I installed the Reader for PC it found my books and imported them to the new software, collections and all. It's exactly as I had for the Reader Library (software). The names make it confusing when talking about the old and the new stuff. lol
No I did not manually create the Collections on the Reader itself, although that appears to be the route it has to be. I don't know if I'm just being too grumpy, well, I know I AM, LOL but I don't want to have to do that. Isn't that the point of the software? Make your collection and then sync it with the specific books within the collection onto the Reader. Right now as you say, it's all or nothing. I had to delete all the books manually on the Reader but then ended up with a bunch of empty Collections that I could do nothing with. The Collections on the T1 itself were classed as SYNC so I couldn't touch them. I can't rename them or delete them. I have to figure out how to not class them as SYNC then I think I can do whatever I want. I couldn't even manage the collection on the T1 via the software. It wouldn't let me. I had to format the fool thing in order to remove the collections. I don't think it should be that way. The only other option appears to be drag and drop which I haven't tried but the manual says they probably won't appear properly on the unit. ???? I'm not keen on doing it all manually on the T1. I have almost 400 books I'd need to organize and I find the black flashing while doing so giving me a headache. The flashing while reading a book doesn't bother me, but on the browser to search for books and while trying to organize it on the T1 does. I was so frustrated with it I packed it up to return it. But I'm stubborn and hate not being able to figure it out. ![]() Last edited by Shopaholic; 10-06-2011 at 09:15 AM. Reason: fix a typo |
