We have two Kindles, both purchased in the same month. Neither switch is loose the way in which yours is, but they are both very different. One is very slack and slides on/off with almost no resistance, whereas the other feels... spongy? No problems with either though.

As Amazon seem pretty happy to replace any Kindle that develops a fault, seems like it's not really worth worrying about too much?
