Why? You were just saying (in another thread? here?) that Kindles are very popular there since they are in bookstores etc. Why would the Fire be any different? Or did I misinterpret what you said?

Because the Fire is being sold primarily as a content platform for Amazon's video services, and those aren't available outside the US. Given that Amazon appear to be selling the Fire at a break-even price, or possibly even at a loss, with the expectation of making money in the future from content sales, it's unlikely they'd sell it in a market where that potential isn't there.

This is all just my personal opinion, of course.

Well, certainly true with respect to video and cloud/streaming, but I'd think even the ebook aspect might be appealing in the same way as the E-ink Kindle.

We'll have to see what happens. I don't think Amazon is quite ready for a world-wide content streaming push.

I won't upgrade, but if I was buying one now, I would go for the basic 4. Don't know what to do with either a keyboard or a touchscreen. Basic 4 is lightest, simplest and cheapest. Well done, Amazon!

the non touch will be a downgrade for me because it has no audio, no replaceable battery, half the storage, half the memory(!), no keyboard.

I may side-grade to the touch kso if I can get decent money for my k3, but I'll wait for hands on reviews, or for it to show up at B&M stores.

I've ordered a NT and it should be here Wednesday FedEx site says.

I still love my K3 but the NT is smaller and lighter and that is a big issue for me.

I do have the Touch pre-ordered but if I like the NT I will probably cancel it for now till we know more about it or I may still get a T1.

For me weight is a big issue. I have small hands and can only hold the K3 for so long before it gets too much and I have to either quit or move it to a stand. The WiFi Touch is 7.5 ounces so it's still lighter then the 8.7 ounces K3 and the NT is 6 ounces which is why I had to get one.

However I am debating now if I do cancel the Touch if I will sell my K3 or not. It's the whole how much can I get back on it when I paid so darn much for it and all it's accessories.

I got the $79 Kindle because I had a K3 before and got rid of it because I felt it too large, this kindle is the perfect size and weight, I'm getting a Fire because I'm a 20gb Cloud user and it allows me to have unlimited Music uploads, and I got 20gb of Music on the cloud already, the fire will let me stream it wherever theres wifi, I'm also a prime user.

Didn't you get the unlimited plan change back in July? I have a 20GB cloud account too but was upgraded to free unlimited for the remainder of my plan. I thought everyone was upgraded.

The Fire looks really nice I am still on the fence about it. I agree with the K3 being too large and I can't wait till my K4 gets here this week.
