Also, the Youtube app works fine. I don't think Netflix uses flash on Android unfortunately; they may depend on hardware acceleration, in which case the Pocket eDGe will never work. I've run into that limitation in other apps, such as Draw Something, which will install but won't run because of that hardware dependency. Since there's no software rendering mode, the game won't run. I suspect that Netflix has a similar problem, and I doubt they're going to fix it.
The only hope I have for Netflix is the Skyfire browser; they may be able to get Silverlight going on Android, in which case you could in theory use the browser to run Netflix directly. That may be a pipe dream, although I did see it mentioned in one or two places. However, the official word from them is that they are NOT working on Silverlight for Android, last I heard. |
