that's exactly how i felt when the movie for the Shopholic books came out. The Luke character in the movie just didn't measure up to the one in the book xP

But the good news is, I have found several good authors because of books being made into movies.

I may go see this movie this weekend despite the not-so-great reviews. The series made me gain two pounds (mostly donuts) and buy a hamster.

Pity, but the casting seems wildly off to me.

I always imagined that Bond movies surpassed Ian Flemming's novels, not that I have compared.

I'm a big fan of the books -- I'll probably see the movie next week. I'm not expecting the movie to live up to the book -- it couldn't be long enough -- but it looks like it should be entertaining. Honestly, it doesn't have the funding to be a blockbuster.

The only glaring problem I have with the casting is Ranger -- I pictured more of a body-builder. And sminarovich, I think Paul Sorvino would have been perfect as Stephanie's Dad. And, of course, Stephanie is supposed to have blue eyes. There's no way they actually could have filmed in Trenton, IMHO, with traffic and congestion. I've read that the suburban Pittsburgh stand-in is pretty good -- and that was in the Newark Star Ledger. Anyway, I go to a movie theater maybe twice a year. This sounds like it could be fun. |

I always pictured Saverio Guerra (Bob from Becker) as Vinny. Just sleezy enough. I loved the earlier books. Marisa Tormei would have made a great Stephanie and would have been much more believeable as a tough Jersy girl. I probably won't go see it, but make up my mind when it hits the netflix cue.

The books are more hard boiled and serious which is a good thing. I really like them all except the last one which was not properly finished since Ian Flemming died.
