I spent a little more than the first decade of my life after leaving highschool in the military. Functional pockets get to be a way of life. Also I have PTSD now, and keeping everything in its place keeps me from setting stuff down and leaving it somewhere.
Even if I just go to the bathroom when the family goes out to dinner, devices go back in the pockets to keep me from losing them.
