www.slatedroid.com has a lot of helps for the novel white and some help for the others. We have two Novels and love them.

Apps are available in numerous places other than app market and you can run app market with a minor addition to the system.

The Novel is not a cell phone, android was a cell phone software so yes there are some limitations. Novel is not the only tablet that has similar/different limitations.

Well I've experienced all the frustrations with this device and I'm not so technically astute, but I'm willing to learn and try. I can't get an update to firmware--the company bellied-up last year. Beyond the link you mentioned, wHere can I get help. I can't play movies, not even youtube because I don't have a player and can't seem to get one without an update.

Slatedroid is the place to go. Never used mine for anything but night reading, but it works well for that.
