Did you read my post #8. I explained it there. Here is what I wrote.

I just tried to convert an mp3 file to aa in Goldwave and it worked. I have audibleMediaPlayerFilter installed. That may be the trick. Google Chuck Eglington and check out his blog on 'How can I convert Audible.com .AA files to MP3 audio files?'
As to what 'Target Format' it's .aa. Isn't that what your asking to do, to convert from .mp3 to .aa. I don't understand what you want. Google the blog I mentioned. It will give you more info.

I've never had an issue with audible myself. I had a Zune and used it for a long time as a listening device. When I switched to an iphone5 I just started using the app for the phone and motored on. When my wife wants a book I just download it to the computer and transfer it.

Yes that blog shows how to convert .aa to .mp3. I tried to convert mp3 to aa using Goldwave and it converted it, but it will only open in Goldwave.

What do you want to do with the aa file. Perhaps there is some way else to accomplish what you want. If you just want to make an audio book file, you can import the mp3 file into iTunes and then convert to AAC. Then you would just change the extension of the file from m4a to m4b. I can post instructions if you want.
