I think the second choice is backwards
That's the only time I don't grab the reader and take it with me.

That is a sad end to your Palm.

At least it fell in the tank and not an occupied bowl. One of my biggest lifelong phobias is having to fish something important out of that place. At least my present everyday ereaders won't fit in there, well not to the point of being totally submerged. I do keep a pair of tongs under the sink for just such emergencies. I even remove any rings I might be wearing, you know, just in case.

Only if the book is really good and I can't put it down. Newspapers sometimes.

I do take my reader with me to the bathroom when I have to go if I have enough time. I do not have it in the bathroom when I am in the shower. I keep it in the bedroom while I shower.

What do you mean, take it with you? I just leave them scattered all over the house - there's at least one in each room.

This way, I don't have to go looking for something to read.

Yeah, see, that's my thought for Android devices.... You're living it!

P.S. I also like the 'at LEAST one...' part.

My parents were great fans of the book 'Cheaper by the Dozen' and brought us kids up following several of the ideas used there. One such was to put a bookshelf right beside the toilet, filled with the full set of Britannica Junior Encyclopedia (the older version before all the pretty pictures) By age twelve I had read through A-Z twice. I've never lost the habit despite the fact that Japanese water closets barely have enough room to hang a paperback on the string! Thank goodness for e-readers!

For the 'bath and beach,' I put my reader into a waterproof snorkeling bag like this, rated safe to 10 meters.

The Library

Our master bath, thanks to the former owner, has a marble floor and vanity and mahogany wood cabinets. So we have laughingly called going to the potty as "going to the library." Our friends and neighbors caught on to what we were referring to when we mentioned going to the library.

One of those friends helped me get a job in her IT department for a major bank. Imagine my disconcertion when during the first week my new coworkers, including my boss, came up to me and referred to potty breaks as "going to the library." However, the whole department had picked up on our euphemism from my friend and had been using it for many months. It was obviously their way of breaking me in.... And giving recognition to the person who had coined a phrase they often used to explain in a courteous way why they needed to step away from their desks.
