Sony is such an ass of a company that I could never, in good conscience, give them a penny no matter how amazing their ereader might be.

Thank you for that.
I have already tried contacting Kobo support using the site kobo.zendesk.com two days ago, and I am currently waiting for their reply. But I guess I'll also try using the first two links.

I think I'll bug them until this gets solved on they just give up.

I'm actually quite fine with waiting as long as they help me solve this.

Yeah, I heard their customer support is quite bad.
So I'm still quite undecided if I'm going to get their E-reader or not if my Kobo Touch can't be fixed.

...Or I'll just get an iPad, it might be more 'stable', I guess.
But the LCD hurts my eyes.

Hope you're enjoying your Kobo touch tho.

Very much so. I was bitten by the 1.9.9 Storage bug, but other than that I've been extremely pleased, and I'm an IT guy by trade who isn't easily impressed by technology. I could see how your attitude might differ based on your experience with a dodgy unit, but I have nothing but praise for mine. My wife (as usual) didn't see the draw (same as with the PVR she now couldn't live without ;0) and why I was so excited, but after seeing me still enjoy my Kobo after more than a month, now she wants one. Good thing her birthday is in 3 weeks. Hmmm, lavender or blue?

That is good.
I really liked my Kobo too, I didn't mind the storage bug since I can just ignore it and I am still able to use my reader.

I was actually thinking of buying another Kobo touch, but my friend said that I was crazy. And I am quite afraid of getting the same error again.

Why don't you get the black colored one? The white ones easily get dirty.

And to your other post, I guess Sony knows what's coming for them, they don't really make the best quality devices now.

I think my Kobo is really quite dead, it's a shame since I really liked it and I treated it like a baby. I'd like to get a Kindle too, but there's no SD card slot for my books.
I think I'm gonna buy a Sony PRS-900 or the new Sony Ereader that just came out since it's much more cheaper than the 900.
IRex models look good but it's too expensive! Oh well...

Good luck with your Kindle.
I treated mine like a baby too, I had it for two weeks and it always had a screen protector on it. I also have a case and an sd card I can't use anymore as well, because the Kobo bricked. The thing about the sd slot is that I cannot even imagine the Kobo being able to handle a 32 gb card. It would be "processing content" forever...

Hmm, and when I complained about it last week, I was given the impression that I'm the only person here who has any problems with the Kobo Touch.

If I could wait I would probably try the new Sony one too...

Don't get a second one!

Unless you can return it when it sucks!

When I got my second Kobo, I was really disappointed, because it was painfully slow. No storage error, but I also had difficulties uploading my books. I finally gave up and returned it for good!

Nah, I think everyone is having a bit of a problem with all their devices.
I really think that the e-reader technology is really not that developed yet, so there will be alot of bugs and problems and there won't be a 'perfect' reader anytime soon. So, I'm quite patient in dealing with all of these.

But Kobo, I think they really are trying by doing the upgrades, and that's a good thing. But of course, they just can't please everybody.

I already have a black one and don't want them confused. White & silver show dirt too easily, so the lavender it will likely be for hers.

Glad to hear the problem was solved. Would you mind elaborating on the fix that was applied?
