Clearly not! You need to read more carefully. The OP wasn't talking about the Kindle store, and in any case Agency pricing affects all ebook stores equally.

Ouch! In the UK the series is published by Quercus. £3.59, £3.59 and £2.44 at Amazon. But Quercus isn't an Agency publisher.

What I don't understand is why Penguin won't sell eBooks via Amazon in Canada. This just seems silly to me.

It's not quite equal when one publisher won't sell to a specific store.

There are many books that I am waiting to borrow from the public library because I refuse to pay $12 for an ebook. I also will not buy the paperback because it just rewards the publishers for their price fixing strategies. since my public library isn't purchasing many new ebooks I have to wait for the physical copies- but I will wait.

I think the earlier pricing of the Larsson books was a promotional price. I'd read about the "sale" a while ago and bought the books at the discounted price. So I don't blame Penguin now that the prices have gone up.

Agency pricing is another matter altogether, and I think the agency model stinks.

Publishers are evil.

Gadaffi is evil, Pol Pot was evil etc... whatever else they are, evil is really overkill in this case... don't devalue the currency of words by overuse in the wrong context...

Have you ever got onto anyone for devaluing the currency of words by use of the term piracy in the wrong context?
