Look in the xhtml source near the place where the displayed text stops. It could be something as simple as a missing semicolon at the end of an html entity, like Δ for example.

Thanks for that. I'll have a look when I come home from work. If we're not too busy, I'll brush up on html and xhtml while I'm there, since my knowledge of the subject is about eight years out of date.
