Switching from Sony to Kindle - Page 2

Okay, new problem. I downloaded Calibre as sugested and almost all of the books on my reader say EPub. However, when I drag/drop into calibre, I get a DRM message and cannot convert. What's the deal?

To remove DRM, you need to download and install certain Calibre plugins. Calibre by itself doesn't remove DRM by default and its maintainers don't openly endorse DRM removal for legal reasons. It's the same reasons and for board rules that will have me go cryptic and suggest that you do a Google search for "Apprentice Alf", that should tell you all that you need to acquire these plugins.

Not a problem for me. I buy from whoever has the book I want (inc. Amazon), strip DRM and then convert to ePub using Calibre before loading onto my 650. Works every time.

I've just switched from KIndle to Sony.. YOU have much more choice with where to buy your books with a sony.. But that is MY option.. in the end it is YOUR decision..
