Agree with you. I would wish an ereader which has
But I fear ereaders will end up some day as multi purpose, home phoning, ipad-like gadgets. A |

I was not very clear : I don't want videos on my eReader, my LCD tablet is perfect for that...It's just that things could be faster, like page turns, also the whole dictionary process (which I use a lot) : sometimes you click on a word, but it's just a link to another word, so you click once again to get the full page definition, click on the reference and you get the word. So it can be a bit boring if you look up many words like me, a faster device would ease that up a bit. After seeing some demos like the video or doom on an eInk screen, I hoped some company would incorporate the new controller, but no luck so far.

Shiny finish is not conducive to reading in the sun, nor is chrome plated and ill positioned buttons. Also it seems VERY sluggish and the dictionary lookup looks like it would take forever. Plus I assume it will cost well over $200 USD which is way too high.

if it is android then it can probably be optimized for speed...i wouldn't let a review on a potentially stock device taint what could be a really nice reader.

If you don't like it, get a decal. It'll really stick well on that smooth finish. |

Smooth finish is perfectly fine. What I and the others are objecting to is the high gloss finish. I shouldn't have to buy a reader knowing I have to cover it up to use it.

The high gloss finish serves no purpose in my mind and in a lot of situations it could actually be a hindrance to easy reading. I know that some people will love it but for those that don't it may be the difference between a sale or not. |

i would prefer not to have the glossy finish but i always use a cover/sleeve on my reader so it makes no odds in the long run, as long as the device itself is doing its job and doing it well that to me is the most important factor. as for the addition of wifi i am not overly excited but it is a handy addition so its there if i need it.
cheers,mick. |

I don't see the little pen thing that is on the 650. So to interact with the reader one must use fingers ? I don't like that, I never touch the screen of my 650 with my fingers lest it would get spots or tracks. My point is you have the option with the 650, but it appears you don't with the T1 ...
That and the lack of a color screen is a let down. |
