Just because you think it is a great program, is valuable, and should be promoted doesn't mean that everyone does. Different people have different needs, requirements and wants.

You are not likely to win many converts to your program when you come here with an attitude that says, "I like this program, why doesn't everyone else."

That may be the case Ron, but how many of that half dozen actually work? KKCM does. As far as I know, it is the only one that does. Be very intrested in knowing of any others that work.

I agree that a sticky isn't needed. You've been bumping up old KKCM threads and advertising for it pretty well already.
That is my point. That most have never heard of it. Shouldn't a Kindle collection manager that actually works be talked about in this forum or am I missing something? Believe me, I am not trying to be a jerk here, but I have been looking for over a year for a program that does what this one does, and I am happy to have found it. I think anyone with a Kindle would like it.

Well first, it isn't my program. I have no interest in KKCM at all other than finally a program is available that actually works to allow Kindle owners to sort their collections on their computer and save the collections to the Kindle quickly and easily. If I owned a Kindle, and I have three, I would love to know about this program. I just feel that a sticky for it would benefit the members of this forum. Ron said there are at least half a dozen collection managers for the Kindle. KKCM is the only one that I know of that actually works. If there are others out there, I would love to know about them.

Calibre is often mentioned as a program to sort collections. It is a wonderful program and I use it on a daily basis, but I do not use it to keep track of my collections. I sometimes put ten or twelve copies of the same title on Calibre, but I only want one of them on my Kindle.

You can use multiple libraries on Calibre and there is plugin that let's you manage your collections directly to your Kindle. It's what the majority of us use and it works great.

Not on my computer. I don't use Windows. If you're going to evangelize, at least state all of the requirements. Looking at the instructions on the website, it doesn't look all that easy for the average Kindle user to set up, either.

okay - well I played around with it a little more.

I don't think this program will work well for me because I let Calibre manage the directories my books are in and move books to the device. I don't want my collection names to be the same as the folder names.

I vastly prefer the interface of Kindle Collection Manager, although that project appears defunct and I can't get it to save the books in Collections properly. I still use it occasionally when I want to create several new Collection names at once.

I've played around with the Calibre plug-in (not very recently though) and it works - but the number of Collections and Books I have on my device really seems to slow it down. It just isn't worthwhile to mess with it when I'm just looking to add 2 new books to one Collection or something simple.

...just a quick note to give some impressions about the latest update of KKCM. The author said that he made a major rewrite of the tool. I tested it: The new version of KKCM is noticeably faster than before and it also works better: Now, all my 2781 books are correctly put in collections (before there were always 3 books that I had to manually put myself in collections using the kindle interface). That's a nice work!
