I think this book does an excellent job warning against collectivism in an interesting-to-read way. Some of the long speeches characters give could be shortened some, but otherwise a great book.

I only read this book because it had a warning hand written in the front about leaving it alone if I valued my time.. yaddah yaddah yaddah. (a true communist would have destroyed it before i could get my little hands on it). If it hadn't been for the warning, I may never have had the pleasure of reading it.
Thanks for reminding me of this book. It must be time to have another go at it and see if I love it as much as I did many years ago. ![]() |

As a kid, this book really made an impression. Time to read it again.
Thanks, for the reminder. |

It was an enjoyable re-read. Must admit I had forgotten how she could get into those multi-paragraph diatribes.
What did surprise me this time around is though Dagny, for her own time may have been quite the progressive, by today's standards (or at least mine) she was basically a male chauvinist in a skirt. |
