I meant to say that I use the Overdrive catalog to determine that the ebook/audiobook is available from there, and then requesting my library obtain a copy. We don't really have an ebook/audiobook request field yet, so I request audiobooks as though they were hardcopies on CD, enter the Overdrive ISBN# and specify "downloadable book" in the comments section. For ebooks I enter the title as "War and Peace - EBOOK" (all caps), Overdrive ISBN# and a note in the comment field. They seem to "get" it just fine!

Okay, so you are talking about print books, not e-books. Yes, most libraries do that, if only because they have to be selective about how they use their space.
