It is NOT at higher cost on Kindle than the old Fictionwise subscriptions. In eight years of subscribing, the absolutely lowest price at which I managed to buy a subscription was a few cents over $35 (my average two-yearly subscription cost was about $39). A two-year subscription at Amazon for those in the US is just $24.

I wouldn't buy anything with DRM if I wasn't also able to immediately remove the DRM for safe archiving/conversion.

The formatting is significantly improved over the old Fictionwise issues. And the editor has promised that the two 'missing' issues will appear in electronic form somehow.

I'm reasonably happy, although I wish they didn't have the DRM.

Unfortunately, those who are Kindle For PC users are left out in the cold. I also don't like the statement that they automatically delete issues that are a few months old. Considering that I'm still about a year behind reading my Analogs, that would suck for me.

The issues have a keep button that stops them from being deleated when checked. No need to worry.

If you have the Kindle App on iPod Touch, iPhone or Android you can also subscribe.

I suspect that the reason you can't subscribe on Kindle for PC/Mac is that the special magazine coding doesn't work on those applications.

Well, until the Kindle you have them on breaks, and you're unable to re-download old issues onto your replacement Kindle....

Never buy any ebooks with DRM that you can't remove. Luckily the DRM on Kindle magazine issues can be removed. So you do that and you can read them on any Kindle compatible device. Although note that the magazine article selection stuff doesn't work on Kindle for PC/Mac.
