I do read my ebook reader 'naked' sometimes, but not when I am moving about. It is really nice naked, but I never carry it around without the case - I only take the case off when I'm lying on the couch or in bed and the risk of a fall is lessened.

I keep my Sony in its squishy pouch, but remove it when I'm reading.

yeah, sorry guys. i've sold out. i put the case back on. it's just not feasible for me. you flip the device around, and your hand gets smudges all over the screen. there's no ideal way to carry it without a case, either.

it's also not too flashy without it either, though if a blinged out rapper rocked one around the neck, i may reconsider.

Have you tried Gelaskins? I have (had) one on my Kobo before my husband broke it. It kept it pretty well protected and I have tendency to drop stuff...

those are pretty cool. only thing i don't like is that the screen is still easy to smudge when you're carrying it. may consider one of those.

Hmm, never really thought about it. I also use(d) a screen protector, too. Pretty cheap, I got one that was sizable from Borders. Can't remember the name of the company now.

If that's the pouch that came with the Sony, your Sony would be far better with a proper cover.

And even if it isn't the Sony pouch, you are still far better off reading with a cover. If you drop it while it's out of the pouch, you have no extra protection and more chance of damage. My mother has dropped her Reader and it's come away fine. But then it was in a cover.

I personally love the booklike flap covers that came with the 500s and 505s, and sony now sells for the newer ones, It doesn't do much to protect the corners, but helps protect the screen and just makes it easier to hold.

Yep, it's the Sony pouch. And I've had it for more than 12 months now, read it regularly on the bus and train, and never had a problem. And I drop it about once a month So, nope. I'm happy naked

Despite the inherent danger, I read my Boox M90 naked.

In what way, other than designs, are these different than the DecalGirl skins?
