I first heard 'They Call the Wind Maria' on the Kingston Trio's "... from the Hungary i" album in the late '50s - so that's the proper version for me... I didn't even know it was from Paint Your Wagon until I saw the movie at a drive-in in the '70s - but the album does credit Lerner&Loewe, I just never noticed (I still have the album from January '59, and most of the others)
