Seriously, I just keep my new stuff behind the rear seat in the minivan until my better half is out or asleep. Then I just have to convince her that I've always had that stuff!

As "the wife" I would totally understand, but you might have to use little words to explain the differences to me, which I would have to know because I am curious.

But I wouldn't say anything if you got another, because I was that way with yarn before my surgeries. We have a lot of tech in my house. And gaming.

My dh, to whom most of the electronics and gaming things belong, asks why I need an ereader. I say, because I need to annotate. He says, you have a computer. . .? I say I need to be able to *write* on it. With a pen.

Same here. I'm the wife in my marriage, and if my better half comes home with a brand new gadget I ask him to share it. we're both geeks and gamers, and we love our toys.

And trust me, it makes it all the more difficult to resist buying new ones, when no one holds you accountable and asks you to justify it!

Yeah... I have to explain to my husband why I need new gadgets and very expensive yarn and a ton of books... But he's a gamer*, so I explain things in terms of video games. "Yes, I don't need this book, but it's only $7 and it'll take me about 30 hours to read it, so that's waaaay cheaper than your price-to-hours-of-entertainment ratio on games."

*I still identify myself as a gamer, but I haven't played in a long time

Go count the number of shoes in her closet and be ready to challenge her with why she needs 5 pairs of (insert shoe-style here).

One day I counted 8 pairs of running shoes in my wife's side of the closet. When I confronted her she admitted there were 2 more pairs at work but her attitude was "So? I dont have a problem. I can quit anytime..."

Now your going too far. There is nothing wrong with a closet full of shoes. Especially if they are sandals.

Hear, hear!

(Though a complete collection needs to have at least two pairs of very tall high-heeled black boots.)

A few years ago I would have been right there with ya. But alas, I fell and broke my ankle years back and since then find it very hard/painful to wear any kind of high heels. But, I can admire and salivate.

My husband is under the false impression that when I buy a pair of shoes I should through out a pair.

When my husband and I bought our house, he made the mistake of telling me that now that I have my own walk-in closet, I can have as many shoes as I want, as long as I keep them in there...!

I have now learned that when you stack shoe boxes on top of each other and store your shoes that way, seven is the max you can stack before the weight becomes too much for the box at the bottom of the stack.

Now I just need to find a way to keep my make-up collection and video games organized, and I'll be all set.

There's no such limit if you use the clear plastic boxes .....

Oh Boy!! Big Big mistake.

We have shelves set up in our closet and I use the clear plastic storage boxes. Sometimes I can get 2 pairs in one box especially if they are sandals (my weakness). Can fit a lot of shoes on those shelves.

Brilliant!

Clearly, I still have much to learn. And clear plastic boxes to invest in! There is a big shoe sale in the mall in my town right now...

Cool! I mean, yarn and shoes and gaming are cool. The other stuff usually goes over my head, thus use little words but please explain because I am curious. Thus, it has become my dream to knit a dice bag with the word thac0 on it, in two shades of metal.

I can't get the tensioning right in two-colored knitting still, so we'll see.

Now that we've gone so far off track, back to sales at stores involving tablets . . .
