I am definitely not getting the promised battery life. The Touch was fully charged last weekend. Then I read about 300 pages of a book up to Friday. Went away on the weekend without the Touch and came back to the please recharge your Kobo screen. This is a Kobo with 1.9.7 and the wifi always in airplane mode.

I think I had at least half a battery showing when I took off on Friday morning. If the wifi was connected I could see the issue, but without the wifi what would drain the battery like that?

I've never seen a "Please recharge" screen on the KT. Does it have one? Mine either just goes blank suddenly while I'm reading, or refuses to turn on.

Maybe you leave yours in Sleep mode? Apparently that drains the battery faster than turning it off, but maybe that's also the only way it actually has a chance to show the "Please recharge" screen.

That's exactly what I do (never turn it off; just put it to sleep). I'll start turning it off and see if there's a difference in battery.
