i agree that its good to have a forum like p&r. i've been treated well there despite making many regrettable statements i wouldn't want to be held accountable for. luckily some of the cordial spirit of this place has carried over there. it seems more appropriate to be inordinately passionate about p&r than ereader quibbles. though i'm guilty of those as well. mostly feigned opinions altogether, i might add. however, my intention is never to manipulate others. only myself.

No Marc, not an insult, if anything a compliment. The attention to detail coupled with the writing skills required of technical writers boggle my mind.

Ha! It would be fine - to me, LOL-amusing - if it was both, honest. I'm built that way, and was conscious of your propensity for good humour.

But, if it be the other way, I'll be flattered and issue another emoticon:

Cheers,
Marc (well, I sure sucked the comedy out of that <---at self)

So is this the thread for Politics and Religion? I can't find an actual forum. I've got a cute political cartoon to post that involves books so it would be on topic for MobileRead as a whole, but I want to put it in the right place.

We are missing a lot by treating them like oil and water. World will be better place if we rethink, IMHO. I agree with what Einstein said.

"Religion without science is blind.
Science without religion is lame."

NOTE: This is just reply and will not discuss anymore on these threads. I will look similar topics in P & R forums.
I like spirituality even though I'm a hardcore atheist myself in the way that it can satisfied my more primative nature. Like for instence, I can imagine that I have a person/spirit watching over me who I can seek comfort from (a positive side) - even though I know there isn't one. This is just my version of spirituality, ofc, and I am sure there's many other versions that can co-exit with science. I guess you could also describe it as 'conciencious manipulation of self'. Hehe.

I guess I wouldn't mind if Mobileread ceated an offtopic discussion board for more serious discussions about the world and life in general.

Edit: But it might also make Mobileread less of a family forum in turn. Mobileread is quite an innocent place, so to say, like it is now.

MobileRead has such a place, at least for topics of a political or religious nature. If you look at KK's post (or my longish one a page back) you'll find a link on how to access it.

Cheers,
Marc

Thank you, I totally missed that. This is a very smart system, I think.
