Cool Oh, perleezzz...........

Hands are remote from the brain - that's far enough, for heaven's sake !

I do, however, confess to buying a car radio, with remote, under the orders of my son, who thought it was cool......

After around a week, the thrill wore off, and he'd worked out it was easier to use the outdated physical interface.............

But we still liked the flashing lights........

Dunno where the remote went.

voice control

I would rather have voice control for the handicapped. But I can see a use for the remote. When I was hospitalized once I had IVs (2 in each arm) and I couldn't bend my arm without setting off an alarm which meant I couldn't read or even eat. A remote would have been wonderful.

I guess I'm super lazy, but there have been times I wished I had a remote to turn the pages so I would have to lift my other hand to hit the page turn button. My ideal reader would hang from the ceiling while I lay in bed reading. It would automatically adjust position according to however my head was laying and pages would be turned by electrodes implanted in my skull.

But seriously, remote would be great for folks with physical impairments.

The JBL has three different buttons for page turns -- no touch screen. I read while eating all the time. It also has an automatic timed page turn, if you have a good idea how long it takes you to read a page.

Ditto that.

I sometimes read while holding a child on my lap. It's difficult to hold the device one-handed and still tap the page-turn button.

Any time I've seen a wish list for Kindle, a remote is the first thing I think of. The time I would like to use it is in the winter time, lying in bed covered with blankets, it would be nice not to have to keep one hand out to turn pages. I know it's silly, and it's certainly not something I NEED, just saying it would be nice.

A remote isn't something I need for my Kindle, either, but—full disclosure here—if one were on the market, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

i think it would be great. if a company makes a large screen reader with a remote, that would be great. heck, sony could save some plastic and incorporate a remote into the stylus. the making a large screen reader would probably be more of an issue for them. maybe not.

clicking's fine, but i have my moments i suppose. depending on the chair and/or table and body positioning, too, it could be useful to have a remote.

i hadn't thought of ease-of-use for handicapped people, but it couldn't hurt to make things as easy as possible for people. at least to have more options of moving the pages, whether voice or remote.

You are not alone..! I have always thought of building a wooden L shaped structure with a sliding arm along the length to attach the reader… It will have a built in light mechanism. I could keep it beside my bed or chair and the reader will be hanging just in front of my eyes. I guess the reason I haven’t built it yet that I would still need to lift my hand to swipe the pages. I guess a remote would solve that problem..

I would prefer books uploaded into my mind where I can go through them chapter by chapter. But that’s too far into future..

I could see myself using a remote while on the treadmill. I've played around with the TTS page turning but even the fastest reading speed is much slower than my reading speed. Just a wireless clicker I could hold in one hand would be great.
