Sorry, but I think this is plain daft !

What's wrong with a soft pillow, or beanbag, as suggested - even that seems a bit higher tech than needed !

Why do we fall for every "essential aid" that they come up with - these will soon be among the other must haves, like motion activated air fresheners, outdoor air conditioners, and those hats with built in parasols/umbrellas !

I use the pillow next to me, or any of my stuffed animals to prop up my reader while reading in bed.

Because people come in different shapes, and with different discomforts and needs.

I generally read on my side, and my ereader is propped up in a easel.

I can't prop it on my stomach, even with a pillow, because my tummy is, uh, the wrong shape.

I can hold my Sony up in one hand, but my NC is too heavy - I broke my wrist a year ago and it gets strained pretty easily nowadays.

I say, if it fulfills a need for someone else, why make fun of them for it?

Interesting.

I have a Nook Color, and I must say, the weight and the slippery bottom means it will slide down and fall over if I just try to prop it up against a pillow -- the "lip" of these book rests is actually necessary to keep it up. As for a bean bag, I've had bad luck with those -- the beads settle and POP heavy NC is flat on its back again.

I actually use my NC rarely because it is very heavy for my wrists and I don't have anything that props it up reliably. Something like this might do the trick nicely.

I realize it's fun to rail against specialty devices, but is it possible that you don't understand why some users and devices need specialty gadgets? For instance, the hats with the built in umbrellas are very nice if you can't hold an umbrella. Just a gentle thought -- something to think about before posting that a device is daft next time.

Please, read my post - I wasn't making fun of the people that use it - or them - but the things themselves.

But to clarify :- In my opinion, this object for sale is daft, the people that might use / want it are quite welcome to buy it and use it if they wish.

Mmm... but I do think my "specialty gadget" parameters are a little different to yours.....

I mean, have you seen those hats ??!! And especially the adverts?

And, yes, I'm sure they are very nice if you can't hold an umbrella, and don't mind looking ...well, have you seen those hats ??!!

The couple of people I know that can't hold an umbrella find a normal hat, sometimes with a wide brim, or even a waterproof outer garment - with hood even - the very thing . They'd never dream of attempting to carry off one of those "speciality gadgets" !

Personally I'd rather get wet.........

A customer came into the UBS were I work today was was telling me how she uses the peedamid pillow for her iPad and she loves it.

I have arthritis in my right hand and after awhile my iPad gets heavy in my hands when I'm reading.

My Nook Color needs a specialty gadget pillow because a regular pillow makes it fall over. That's what I meant -- sorry if it read awkwardly.

I have the Peeramid pillow and I have a Coyl Cushion, the Coyl Cushion is SO much better!! It's really useful when you're sitting on the couch with your tablet, you can prop it on this little pillow, or prop your ereader at any direction you want. I use this easel with my NC - it's very stable, but it does need to be on a flat, hard surface. I use a small lap desk in bed.
